How Admissions Works

We have made the admissions process as straightforward as possible — because the last thing someone reaching out for help needs is more obstacles. Here is what to expect from your first call to your first day.

1

Reach Out

Call us at 606-459-5171 or submit a confidential inquiry through our contact form. Our admissions team is available around the clock — day or night, weekday or weekend. You will speak with a real person who is ready to listen, answer your questions honestly, and help you figure out the right next step. There are no obligations and no pressure.

2

Confidential Assessment

We will conduct a brief, confidential assessment to better understand your situation — your history with substance use, any mental health concerns, your current living situation, and what you are hoping to get out of treatment. This helps us determine the appropriate level of care and begin building a picture of what your treatment plan might look like. This can be done over the phone.

3

Insurance Verification & Financial Review

Our team will verify your insurance coverage and walk you through your benefits in plain language. We accept Kentucky Medicaid and work with most major insurance providers. If you are uninsured or underinsured, we will discuss all available options with you. We believe cost should never be the reason someone does not get help.

4

Admission Coordination

Once the assessment is complete and coverage is confirmed, we will coordinate your admission date and walk you through everything you need to know before you arrive — including what to bring, what to expect, and how to prepare. Our team will be with you every step of the way.

5

Arrival & Intake

When you arrive at Fresh Start, you will be welcomed by our staff and walked through the intake process. This includes a comprehensive clinical assessment, a medical review, and an orientation to the facility and your daily schedule. From the moment you walk through our doors, you are part of our community.

Insurance & Payment Information

We believe that access to quality addiction treatment should not depend on someone's financial situation. That is why we accept Kentucky Medicaid and work with a range of insurance providers to make treatment as accessible as possible.

Medicaid

Fresh Start Recovery Center is enrolled with Kentucky Medicaid. If you or your loved one is covered by Medicaid, our admissions team will verify your benefits and walk you through exactly what is covered before admission. There are no surprises.

Private Insurance

We work with most major private insurance providers. Coverage for substance use disorder treatment varies by plan, and our team will conduct a thorough benefits verification on your behalf — explaining what is covered, what your out-of-pocket costs may be, and what options are available if there are gaps in coverage.

Self-Pay & Other Options

If you do not have insurance coverage or are underinsured, please do not let that stop you from reaching out. Our admissions team will work with you to explore all available options and find a path to care. We are committed to removing barriers, not adding them.

Have Your Insurance Information Ready

When you call, having your insurance card available will help us verify your benefits quickly. If you do not have it on hand, do not worry — call anyway. We can work through it together.
